About Us
Our history
If you are reading this, it is because you would like to know who is behind TRAN TRAN and how the idea came about.
Ours is a simple story: we are two friends (Miriam and Pilar) who, after a long career in our respective jobs, agreed on the need for a change of direction.
Miriam has spent the last ten years of her career in the world of flamenco, and Pilar has combined administrative tasks in a multinational company with her passion for oriental dance.
That's how one day we decided to leave everything behind and take some time to look for new projects to focus on.
What encouraged us to take the first step?
During this period of reflection, our steps lead us by chance to an international fair where we discovered a world of possibilities in footwear manufacturing.
This visit awakens in Miriam, aware of the need for comfort and “sportiness” that for years customers have been transmitting to her, the spark that leads us to value the creation of a new type of footwear for flamenco.
The objective is to offer an option to minimize the injuries and pathologies suffered by dancers. The professionals of the sector, far from discouraging us, saw it possible to combine the comfort of a sports shoe with the particularities that define the flamenco shoe.
And why not include costumes as well? We realized that people who are fond of dance, yoga, etc., have certain habits, concerns and common tastes related to the discipline we practice and that somehow defines us. We demand quality garments, both in terms of fabrics and manufacturing, that are elegant and versatile, while guaranteeing respect for the planet and the people involved in their manufacture.
All this inspired us to create clothes to feel and look good both in and out of class, with the desire to bring the magic of dance to every moment of life.
How did we do all this?
Well, with a bit of thrilling fear but our passion overcomes that.
The truth is that it has turned out to be a wonderful journey, full of people who have helped, encouraged and inspired us to develop this great little challenge.
OUR “COMPANY”
We do not “dance” alone, far from it.
TRAN TRAN was born with the purpose of becoming a family business.
From minute one we have had the support and collaboration of our nephews. They are now around 18 years old and are being formed with all the passion put in this project, they are the youth and the force that drives us.
We also have Noriko, a yoga teacher and a great connoisseur of flamenco in all its facets, who not only collaborates with us, but is also our source of inspiration.
And if we managed to make beauty and style compatible with total comfort, it is thanks to the people who believed in our project and started working on it with enthusiasm and faith, David, Sol, Conchi and Manolo who, as choreographers, interpret and develop our ideas to create the magic.
“AL TRAN TRAN”
Our dream is to bring beauty, comfort and innovation to the lives of all those people who carry dance in their hearts, who dance both in and out of the dance studio, whether they are professionals or amateurs.
We always look ahead without losing sight of where we come from. We intend that Tran Tran means an evolution in the manufacture of footwear and dancewear while preserving its essence, making it more comfortable, healthy and versatile, more sporty. At the same time we position ourselves in the way of manufacturing and consumption before the “fast-fashion” craze and we want to be an alternative for those who decide to buy in a conscious way.
We intend to do all this with respect for people, traditions and the planet and in accordance with our principles: quality, empathy, responsibility and commitment.
TRAN TRAN brings to mind the joy of “tirititrantrantrantran” and inspires rhythm and movement.
At the same time “al trantran” is an old expression that comes to mean without haste, taking the time that each thing requires, time to think, to do things your way...
This philosophy defines how we want to do everything: slowly, well and with joy, a reflection of how we would like life to be. Does it resonate with you?
